Yellowstone Breakfast Sandwich, nothing special
Yellowstone "Pancakes", left a lot to be desired

  1. Oh, this looks like so much fun. And I'm not even going to say anything about the fact that it looks like you eat junkfood and are so slim. Oops, did I say that outloud? :)

  2. I really enjoyed your pictures, Anne...especially the ones of Yellowstone at sunset.

We got to see Yellowstone last May and took some pictures of Old Faithful right before sunset. It sure was beautiful!

Did you happen to get stuck in any buffalo herds? We did...twice. The first time we got stuck was for only about 30 minutes so that wasn't so bad.

The second time was around 9 p.m. We had just left Old Faithful and after being on the road nearly all day, we were all exhausted and ready to bed down for the night.

We ended up getting pretty much stuck on the road for 3 hours because of all the buffalo herding and blocking the road. No one could move anywhere, and it took 3 hours for us to go around 10 miles or so.

After that, I lost my desire to see more of Yellowstone. We were on a time crunch and had to make so many miles every day so we could get back to work on time.

My Dad was driving, and we all decided not to explore more of Yellowstone as planned because we were afraid of getting stuck in more buffalo herds.

One of the gals at the restaurant we went to for breakfast the next morning said a few days ago she went the route we were thinking about taking inside Yellowstone. She said she got stuck in two buffalo herds and then stuck on the road where they were doing construction.

As beautiful as Yellowstone was, we just didn't have time to go through it, especially if most of the day would be spent stuck in herds of buffalo. LOL! :)

But it's nice to see your pictures so I can enjoy more of Yellowstone through your trip. :)

Have a great time on your vacation, and be safe. :)

  3. We did get stuck behind the buffalo a few times, but no where near 3 hours, maybe 10 or 15 minutes tops. That's too bad you didn't get to explore more of the park but I can definitely understand after the ordeal you went through!

  4. That's good that you didn't get stuck for long periods of time so you could explore the park. I was afraid we'd never made it back to our motel. :)
